Therapeutic Support
For many people, having a safe and supportive space to be open about life is rare and invaluable. In addition to my clinical areas of expertise, I provide talk therapy to support my clients in processing their thoughts, emotions and life events.
Whether you are struggling with the weight of trauma, seeking recovery from addiction, or navigating other mental health challenges, my goal is to walk with you every step of the way, providing support and practical strategies for lasting healing.
Specialties
Trauma
My approach to treating trauma draws inspiration from the work of leading trauma experts such as Janina Fisher and Bessel van der Kolk. Trauma therapy can help you process through painful details, disturbing memories, emotions and sensations. This process usually involves techniques to release tension, regulate the nervous system, and restore a sense of safety and control.
Trauma often becomes embedded in the body, manifesting as physical tension, pain, or reactivity. I focus on practices that help you reconnect with your body and release the stored tension and heavy burdens that may be contributing to physical and emotional pain.
If you’re ready to start your healing journey or want to learn more about trauma treatment and how it can help, I invite you to contact me. Together, we’ll explore the best path for your recovery and well-being.
EMDR
As a Certified EMDR therapist, I have experience treating first responders, healthcare workers, veterans, and people who live or work in high stress situations. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a structured therapy that encourages you to briefly focus on the trauma memory while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation (eye movements or tapping on both sides of the body), which is associated with a reduction in the vividness, physiological symptoms and distressing emotions associated with traumatic memories. EMDR is particularly effective in treating PTSD, but it's also used for a variety of other issues like anxiety, depression, and phobias. EMDR is effective no matter where we meet - online or in person.
